Spring fashions know no boundaries. So whether you live in Paris, New York, Los Angeles or Tampa, now is the time to make sure you’re up-to-date on the latest styles. This year, top urban experts say to go bold! The following is a list of the looks to be seen in for Spring 2008.
Metal Mania: Metallics are so back I almost want to break out my Joan Jett LPs and play them on a record player. This is not the year to skimp on color. Steel and metallic pinks are required in your repertoire, whether you’re headed to a concert or the grocery store.
Try going green! Metallic green that is. In any hue, green metallics are all the rage. Choose a shade that’s right for your coloring and play up your eyes. And don’t be afraid to go dark, even in the day.
Soft, kissable lips: If you’re going to dare to be dramatic with the eyes, a more subtle lip will do well to complement your look. Think sheer and glossy. (Using lip balm as a base is always a good start.) For the wet, luscious look, rely on liquid lip products for a glossy, smackable radiance. Don’t worry – as Florida’s temperatures heat up, the liquid gloss won’t melt in your purse.
The longer the better: Eyelash extensions are not just for the salon junky or a black-tie event. Give some lift to your lids by applying a sparkly or glossy topcoat to your lashes after your mascara dries. It helps provide a full, wet and ripe appearance.
Pinks are in and white is right: Soft pinks for the lips, cheeks and eyes can make you appear as delicate as a spring flower. No matter your coloring, now is the one time of year anyone can pull off pink. But our love of the rose should not be confused with the true color or lack of color this year.
This just in … white is the new black! This fashion rule for 2008 does not just apply to clothes, but also to makeups. Experiment with white or silver eyeliner. If you’re not into the pencil look, the same frosty beauty can be achieved with silver or white powders and gels.
Remember, the most beautiful and timeless cosmetic you can wear is healthy skin. Spring cleaning applies to your beauty routine, too. Look for products that will nourish and encourage the regeneration of your skin. We also encourage you to use natural, mineral-based makeup lines.
